Junya Yimprasert is a Thai writer and labour-rights activist who has lived in political exile in Finland since 2010. For sixteen years she has documented the trafficking and exploitation of Thai berry pickers in the forests of Finland and Sweden, standing beside the workers through their fight for justice. Her book Bloodberries: Hidden Slavery in the World’s Happiest Nations is the result — sixteen years of fieldwork, 800 documented cases, and the recruitment networks, companies and state systems named on the record.
Yimprasert is International Coordinator of the Migrant Workers Union of Thailand.
