Hidden Valley Farm NZ -Sanctuary

Meet Terri Everett – The Heart Behind Hidden Valley Farm Sanctuary. Meet Terri Everett, founder of Hidden Valley Farm Sanctuary, and discover the story behind a sanctuary she began before she even realised what she was creating. At the heart of this journey is Babs, the special animal who inspired Terri and helped set her on a path she never expected to take. Sometimes, one animal comes into our lives and changes everything. For Terri, Babs was part of the beginning of a much bigger story — one built on compassion, connection, and the belief that every animal deserves kindness and a safe place to call home. In this heartfelt interview, Terri shares her journey, her love of animals, and how a desire to care for them gradually grew into something much bigger than she ever imagined. What started as a simple commitment to caring for animals became a mission to provide a safe haven for farm pets, offer peace of mind to owners who can no longer care for them, and give these animals the opportunity to live out their lives surrounded by kindness, compassion and understanding. But a sanctuary is about so much more than the animals. It's about the people, the unexpected connections, the challenges, the generosity of a community, and the quiet lessons these animals teach us every day about compassion and humanity. Join Terri as she reflects on the journey so far, the inspiration behind it all, the realities of running a sanctuary, and her hopes for the future of Hidden Valley Farm Sanctuary. Sometimes, we don't set out to create something extraordinary. Sometimes, one special animal changes our direction, opens our hearts, and leads us somewhere we never knew we were meant to be. For Terri, Babs was part of that journey.
