In this episode, we show you how to get into Eagle Canyon, navigate the trail, and make your way back out, including all of the most challenging sections of the route.
The adventure begins with a quick stop at the Swasey cabin, followed by a dramatic descent into the canyon, where the trail becomes increasingly narrow and exposed. The steep drop into Eagle Canyon and the challenging shelf roads make this a memorable 4x4 trail in Utah, requiring careful driving and plenty of attention.
Once inside the canyon, the scenery gets even better. One of the major highlights is the spectacular Eagle Canyon Arch, surrounded by towering red-rock canyon walls and the rugged landscape of the San Rafael Swell. And then there's something you don't see every day on a remote Jeep trail — two massive Interstate 70 bridges spanning Eagle Canyon overhead!
But - getting back out is part of the adventure! The narrow shelf roads and steep climb out of Eagle Canyon provide some of the most dramatic and challenging driving of the entire trail. And just when you think the adventure is over, we exit the trail through a fun tunnel underneath Interstate 70!
