Roundabouts. The UK seems to love them. Americans... well, we have a slightly more complicated relationship with them. Today we're reacting to “The Mistake That Made Americans Hate Roundabouts” and finding out how one decision may have helped shape America's relationship with roundabouts for decades. As Americans who spend a LOT of time learning about British culture, we've definitely noticed how differently roundabouts are viewed, and used, on opposite sides of the Atlantic. But we never really stopped to ask why America didn't embrace them in quite the same way. This video sent us down a fascinating rabbit hole involving road design, history, traffic flow, and some decisions that may explain why so many Americans still seem uncomfortable when they encounter a roundabout.
