Understanding the present continuous

This presentation breaks away from the grammar of lists and exceptions and explores the central meaning of the present continuous tense, not as a series of uses to be memorised but in terms of what they have in common. Once this meaning is grasped the understanding can be applied to new situations where a choice of tense is necessary. The recording proposes a cognitive and inductive approach in place of rote learning.
