In Episode 2, Meg talks with Tamika Williams. They’ve known each other since Tamika was 16, and that history makes this conversation feel different from the start. Tamika even calls Meg a “safe space.” Tamika arrived at UConn as part of the legendary 1998 recruiting class with Sue Bird, Swin Cash, and Asjha Jones. Together, they helped shape one of the defining eras of UConn women’s basketball, and more than two decades later, they are still close. Their group chat is still going, even if the conversation has evolved from basketball to careers, parenting to aging parents, and party nights to perimenopause. She is a two-time UConn national champion, WNBA first-round draft pick, record-setting shooter, wife, mom, and now head coach of the University of Dayton women’s basketball team. And so much more. But this conversation goes beyond basketball. Tamika talks about the UConn culture that shaped her, why Geno’s toughness ultimately became something she deeply appreciates, and the hard things that prepared her for everything that came next. As Tamika puts it: “Hard got me coaching jobs. Hard got me into the WNBA. Hard got me pushing through with my kids.” And ultimately: “Hard got me everything I had after I left Connecticut.” Winning can look easy from the outside, but the work behind it isn’t. 🎧 Watch, listen, follow, and subscribe for more: https://paa.ge/itssupposedtobehard Guest: Tamika Williams Head Coach, University of Dayton Women’s Basketball #TamikaWilliams #UConn #WomensBasketball #DaytonFlyers #WNBA #ItsSupposedToBeHard
