Looking for a ski resort in Hokkaido that isn't Niseko? Here are 7 Hokkaido ski resorts with shorter lift lines than Niseko: Niseko Moiwa, Kiroro, Rusutsu, Kamui Ski Links, Furano, Tomamu and Sahoro. Niseko Moiwa Bus from New Chitose Airport to Niseko (about 3 hours), then the ¥100 Niseko Area Circuit Bus. By train: JR to Otaru, then the JR Hakodate Line to Niseko Station (about 3 hours, few trains). Then the ¥100 Circuit Bus to Moiwa (25–45 minutes, 6 buses a day in 2025-26) or a taxi (10 minutes). Moiwa is not part of Niseko United — the All-Mountain Pass does not work here. Day ticket ¥13,000 (2025-26) 2. Kiroro Resort bus from New Chitose Airport, about 2 hours. By train: JR to Otaru-Chikko Station (about 1 hour), then the Otaru–Kiroro bus (about 50 minutes, ¥2,200). Open into May — the 2026-27 season runs until May 5, 2027. Day ticket ¥9,200 (2026-27) 3. Rusutsu Resort bus from New Chitose Airport, about 2 hours. Shuttle bus from Sapporo, about 2 hours. Three mountains on one ticket, with huge tree skiing areas. Tree areas are not patrolled — ski them at your own risk. Day ticket ¥16,700 (2026-27) 4. Kamui Ski Links — two ways to get there From Asahikawa Airport (AKJ): direct shuttle, 1 hour, 2 round trips a day. Reservation required. By train: JR to Sapporo, then the Limited Express to Asahikawa Station (about 2 hours). From Asahikawa Station: local bus (Dohoku Bus, Route 455), about 45 minutes. No reservation needed. Day ticket ¥5,300 (2025-26) 5. Furano From Asahikawa Airport (AKJ): Lavender bus (Furano Bus) to New Furano Prince Hotel, about 1 hour 20 minutes, 7 buses a day, no reservation. Also from Asahikawa Station (about 2 hours). From New Chitose Airport: Hokkaido Resort Liner (ski bus) to New Furano Prince Hotel, about 2 hours 15–25 minutes. 4 buses a day, Dec 1, 2026 – Mar 30, 2027. Reservation required. By train: JR Furano Line from Asahikawa to Furano Station (about 1 hour 20 minutes), then the Lavender bus to the ski area (about 10–20 minutes). At the base, only the New Furano Prince Hotel is ski-in, ski-out. Day ticket ¥8,000 (2025-26) 6. Tomamu Resort bus from New Chitose Airport, about 2 hours. By train: change at Minami-Chitose (next station) to the Limited Express to Tomamu Station, about 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes, 10 trains a day. Resort shuttle bus from the station. Ice Village: Dec 20, 2026 – Mar 10, 2027 (planned), 5–10 pm. ¥600, free for hotel guests. Rime Ice Terrace (top of the gondola): Dec 1, 2026 – Apr 5, 2027. Non-skiers can ride the gondola too (¥2,500 round trip, free with a lift ticket). Rime ice depends on the weather. In summer, the same terrace opens as the Unkai Terrace (sea of clouds): May 13 – Oct 13 in 2026. Day ticket ¥8,000 (2025-26) 7. Sahoro Sahoro Express from New Chitose Airport, about 2 hours 15 minutes. By train: change at Minami-Chitose to the Limited Express to Shintoku Station, about 1.5 hours, 11 trains a day. Free shuttle to Sahoro Resort Hotel (15 minutes) for hotel guests only, book by 5 pm the day before. Day ticket ¥9,300 (2026-27) Ticket prices go up every season.
