2026, September 5 | Marpole Transit Centre Major Update | TransLink’s Future Bus Facility

Drone construction update on the TransLink Marpole Transit Centre Project in Vancouver, BC. The Marpole Transit Centre is being built at 502 West Kent Avenue South, near the North Arm of the Fraser River and the Canada Line bridge. The project is designed to support the administration and maintenance of a combined fleet of 300 battery-electric and conventional buses, plus 25 agency support vehicles. It will be operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company. The facility is planned on a large industrial site in Vancouver’s Marpole / Marine Landing area, close to Marine Drive Station. The project includes multiple major structures, including a three-level operations building and parkade, bus staging and storage, bus charging infrastructure, a maintenance building, fueling facility, bus wash, access tower, and support buildings. A major part of the design is flood protection. The site will be raised to create a superdyke platform along the Fraser River, supported by a flood protection wall along the riverfront. In this update, I take a look at the latest construction progress from above, showing the scale of the site, foundation work, active construction areas, nearby Canada Line guideway, Fraser River waterfront, and the future vision for this major TransLink facility.
