[4K] Western Maryland 1309: Baldwin's Last Steam Locomotive

The Fall season in the Northeast was nothing short of spectacular, featuring loads of fall color, warm temperatures and....mountain thunder! Following Western Maryland Scenic Railroad 734's temporary end of service for a 1472 rebuild, a new locomotive would rise up from the ashes and become the face of the WMSR, the ex Chesapeake and Ohio 2-6-6-2 #1309! During the weekend of November 5th and 6th, Trains Magazine hosted a Fall Photographer's special event featuring the 1309 hauling a freight consist through the Allegheny Mountains. Our journey takes us to locations such as the Narrows in Cumberland, Helmstetter's Curve, Brush Tunnel, Sunnyside, Woodcock Hollow, and many more! We cannot thank the Western Maryland Scenic Railway, their crew, and Trains Magazine enough for organizing such an extraordinary event for photographers, and look forward to visiting again in the near future!
