Yo La Tengo - Everyday

Yo La Tengo is an American indie rock band based in Hoboken, New Jersey. With more than 15 albums released since 1984, they have demonstrated unusual longevity for the indie-rock scene. They are frequently regarded as one of the definitive indie rock groups of the 1990s. Band members include Georgia Hubley, Ira Kaplan and James McNew. The band's name comes from a baseball anecdote. During the 1962 season, New York Mets center fielder Richie Ashburn and Venezuelan shortstop Elio Chacón found themselves colliding in the outfield. When Ashburn went for a catch, he would scream, "I got it! I got it!" only to run into the 160-pound Chacón, who spoke only Spanish. Ashburn learned to yell, "¡Yo la tengo! ¡Yo la tengo!" which is "I have it" in Spanish. lyrics: I want summer's sad songs behind me. I want a laugh a minute, without fail Want to be Paul Le Mat in 1980 Looking to forget tomorrow, looking everyday. I want to see you put your hands together. I want to cross my heart I want to hope to die I hear Kate Moss talk, she talks to me She's looking for a new beginning everyday. When Monday comes I want nothing Come Tuesday morning I want the same The days and nights fly by Looking to embrace the nothing, of the everyday
