Biblical Poetry: An Overview

Biblical poetry is to be found in certain books of Scripture - most notably the Psalms - but also in some of the most memorable passages in Scripture. But Biblical poetry does not follow the rules of Classical poetics. Unlike much Classical poetry, it retains its power, arguably for that reason.
