Sita Falls Ranchi Jharkhand Monsoon Moments

Sita Falls, located about 40–45 km from Ranchi on the Ranchi–Purulia Road near Jonha village, is a stunning 44 m high waterfall formed by the Radhu River, a tributary of the Subarnarekha. Surrounded by lush forest, it offers a peaceful escape and is named after Goddess Sita, with local lore claiming she visited the site during her exile. Visitors descend around 200–300 steps through scenic trails to reach the viewpoint, and adventurous trekkers can get closer to the base. The falls are most spectacular during the monsoon (July–September) and pleasant in winter (December–February), though facilities are minimal, so carrying water and snacks is advisable.
