Ambient Trek - "The Ballad of the USS Ballard" Log_04 (ENT- to ENT-eras) Rigel Expansion

Captain Hernandez of the USS Ballard is up for promotion for her actions during the Rigel Expansion. The Ballard was instrumental in saving the Third Fleet at the "Battle of Nar Nebulae." (00:05). After repairs at Vulcan, Hernandez and her crew set out to defend Science Station 22 when most of the fleet was caught out of position by a Romulan feint (19:00). Station 22 was studying a stretch of space near Andoria called "The Barrens" when the bulk of the Romulan fleet invaded (21:00). Federation scientists and the Andorian Imperial Defense Fleet were able to hold out long enough for the Ballard to arrive. As the "Battle of Barrens" reached its zenith (35:00), Hernandez slipped behind Romulan lines to begin the bombardment of Romulus itself. Subspace buoys left by the Ballard (41:00) would allow the high-specialized Daedalus-class convoy to follow in cautious confidence.
