I am in the most isolated place in the world

In the open waters off Vietnam lies a remote, little-known area. I made a difficult journey there and encountered the peculiar men who eke out an existence in that place. They drive wooden stakes into the seabed and erect tiny, four-square-meter shacks, living there for months on end without returning to the mainland.
