Kevin Tran - Help

Despite me being in the middle of what is probably the most intense finals of my college life, I had to make this video. It's not really the best work I've done and the editing can use a lot of work but I think, it really expresses how I feel about Kevin. See, Kevin was one of my favorite characters. Sure, if anyone knows me on Tumblr, I really love Sam and Gabriel, but my love for Kevin was, is, different from that. I really connected Kevin on a personal level. His story was so similar to mine, as an Asian-American and as the child of a single parent, who was a bit of a tiger mom. But he grew from that, somewhat stereotypical, role. He became the person who the Winchesters went for help. He was there, in the back, making sure everyone was okay. Sure, he wasn't the one out in the field, guns blazing. But he was Kevin-fucking-Solo. I had really hoped, even though I knew better, that Kevin was never going to die. He was supposed to be the one that could've gotten out. There was an end for him. He was supposed to translate the tablet and then get out, go to college, and live a normal, apple pie life. If anyone could've had a happy ending in the pit of despair that is Supernatural, it was Kevin. And, I think, that's what made me connect to him. That no matter what life threw at you, there was always a light at the end of the tunnel. Because Kevin worked so hard, for his mom, for the Winchesters. He was supposed to get out. This is why I made this video.
