Route 66 gave us more reasons to stop than to hurry. These are our roadside memories from Missouri to Arizona: small towns, old bridges, Oklahoma neon, Cadillac Ranch, the Blue Hole, Lowell Observatory—where Pluto was discovered in 1930—and the people and places we wanted to remember. This film brings together photos and video from separate trips, arranged east to west. It is not one continuous drive, and we have not driven every mile. The Santa Monica Pier photo at the end is from a separate visit—a little joke, a good memory, and a reminder that there is still road ahead. 00:00 Missouri — where our story starts 01:11 Kansas — Galena and Rainbow Bridge 01:54 Oklahoma — roadside stops and Tulsa neon 03:53 Texas — Amarillo, Cadillac Ranch and the midpoint 04:17 New Mexico — Tucumcari and the Blue Hole 04:48 Arizona — Petrified Forest to Flagstaff 06:20 Santa Monica — a separate memory Which Route 66 stop would you linger at? Tell us what stretch we should explore next.
