Rangda Dirah is an original song by Queen Veyloria: the widow of Dirah rises in wrath, plague spreads through the villages, and Barong awakens for the clash that ends in trance. Balinese-style gamelan, kecak chant, whispered verses and death growls.
Inspired by the Calon Arang legend of Bali. This is a fictional, artistic interpretation, not a religious ritual. Lyrics are Kawi-inspired (Old Javanese style) and written for atmosphere. Vocals, music and visuals are AI-generated.
POETIC TRANSLATION
The widow of Dirah wears the night,
white hair, red eyes,
long claws, a coiling tongue,
and every village sinks in sorrow.
Sickness arrives, poison flows,
the kulkul tolls in the heart of night.
Rangda! Rangda! Your wrath!
Fire pours from your eyes.
Rangda! Rangda! All is undone,
Barong awakens, the earth thunders.
Plague floods the market and the field,
weeping in the night, the kulkul's cry.
Who gazes loses their words,
who obeys meets dissolution.
Barong! Rangda! Blades are drawn,
blood flows.
Trance... trance...
Widow... void...
