Cluster conversation from Prefacelift to Facelift Audi A4 // Project B5 Quattro

Welcome back to DBK Productions and Project B5 Quattro series! In this video I will show you how to convert audi a4 b5 pre facelift speedometer cluster to facelift cluster. Main difference between these are connectors, backlight types, screens and also fonts on the cluster are different. Facelifted cluster has updated backlights from light bulbs to smd led's, screen has different connector type old one has graphite ribbon cable which can't be repaired if the need be so, facelifted cluster has speaker for warning like temperature and fuel level as well as headlight buzzer when lights are left on leaving the cabin, also the connectors changes from 26 pin to 32 pin ones on the facelifted version. All of these extras if we consider them like that come as neat little upgrade over outdated cluster. I was doing this only for the newer type of vdo display and the fact that it hadn't lost all of it's pixels and is repairable in the future. This upgrade took around two days to complete including collecting all of the info and wiring.   / dbkproductions
