Positioned as a "Golden Standard" large six-seater, the eπ M8 packs Huawei's full Qiankun ecosystem at a price that undercuts almost every rival. In this test drive, we put both the EREV and BEV versions through real-world driving. The range-extender model delivers 300km CLTC pure electric range and an incredible 1,281km combined range, supported by 4C ultra-fast charging (30-80% in about 14 minutes). The pure electric version rides on an 800V silicon carbide platform with 600km CLTC range. The eπ M8 is built on Dongfeng's latest architecture, measuring 5,020mm long with a 3,025mm wheelbase and an impressive 60.3% axle-to-length ratio—meaning more space goes to the cabin rather than the hood. Inside, you get dual zero-gravity "first-class" seats with 10-point massage and ventilation, a 50-inch AR-HUD, a 16.1-inch 3K Huawei central screen, and a 17.3-inch rear entertainment display. Huawei's ADS 5 Pro is standard across the range, featuring the industry-first in-cabin Limera LiDAR and 27 smart sensors. Real-world tests in Chongqing showed zero takeovers through complex urban scenarios including construction zones and aggressive cut-ins. We also dive into the driving feel: the EDC adaptive suspension adjusts damping in 25-50 milliseconds, and the chassis was tuned by a team with three CTCC championship titles.
