⁴ᴷ Kyoto: Uji Station (京都府: 宇治駅) - Japan Walking Tour (October, 2024)

I'm on a journey to the Chūgoku region, aiming for both the San'in and Sanyō areas, and I've now reached Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. Uji is well known for its tea and Byōdō-in Temple, which is also featured on the 10-yen coin. Byōdō-in was founded by Fujiwara no Yorimichi, the eldest son of Fujiwara no Michinaga. I also noticed that the city has many references to the NHK Taiga drama "Hikaru Kimi," with posters and displays scattered throughout the town.
