The name Tibbi Sahib comes from its historic setting on a high mound (tibba) or elevated ground near the river. The Ropar and Kiratpur Sahib regions are deeply sacred to the Sikh faith due to their close association with the travels of the Sikh Gurus. Historically, after leaving Anandpur Sahib in 1705, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his followers crossed through these riverbed terrains, making the entire riverbank landscape a site of immense spiritual remembrance. This Gurudwara is well-regarded by visitors for its incredibly serene and tranquil atmosphere.
