Conflicting accounts have emerged over how 20 prospective corps members abducted in Imo State regained their freedom.
Families reportedly contributed money after ransom demands were made, but one of three representatives who went to negotiate with the kidnappers says no ransom was collected and that the money was returned.
Meanwhile, Questions over aviation safety have intensified following the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on October 5, which claimed more than 20 lives.
President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the bereaved families and called for a thorough investigation. As investigators work to establish the cause of the crash, attention is turning to aircraft maintenance, operational safety and the systems designed to prevent similar incidents.
