光明院で座布団の実演

光明院で開催された、WANAME 1st launch。 今回、@yu_yujinart さんから声をかけていただき、ファッションイベントで座布団作りの実演をさせてもらった。 普段、布団を作っている自分にとって、ファッションイベントというまったく違う世界での実演は、想像するだけでめちゃくちゃワクワクする挑戦やった。 いつもと違う空間。 いつもと違う雰囲気。 そんな場所で、いつもと変わらず綿と向き合い、手を動かす。 自分が作ったものが、誰かの手に渡り、誰かの居場所になり、心地よい時間を生み出している。 その光景を見て、作ってよかったと心から思った。 普段の仕事場ではなかなか味わえない、特別な経験だった。 今回、このような機会をいただけたことに感謝しています。 そして、これからも自分の手で作ることを楽しみながら、まだ見たことのない世界へ挑戦していきたい。 関わってくださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございました。 WANAME 1st launch, held at Komyo-in Temple in Kyoto. I was invited by @yu_yujinart to demonstrate traditional Japanese zabuton cushion-making at this fashion event. As someone who usually makes futons, the opportunity to demonstrate my craft in the completely different world of fashion was an exciting new challenge. Just imagining it filled me with excitement. A different space. A different atmosphere. Yet, in that unfamiliar setting, I did what I always do: worked with cotton and put my hands to work. Seeing something I had made become a place where people could relax and enjoy a moment of comfort made me truly happy. It reminded me why I love what I do. It was a special experience, one that I could rarely have in my usual workspace. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this event. I want to continue enjoying the process of creating things with my own hands and challenging myself to explore worlds I have yet to discover.
