Barbados removes Queen Elizabeth II as Head of State: Why it matters.

On 30th November 2021, the independent Caribbean nation of Barbados became a Republic with Dame Sandra Mason being sworn in as their first President replacing Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as its Head of State. This spread to Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Jamaica and the rest of the British empire.
