Exploring Aegina Islands | A Greek Island Just 1 hour from Athens 🏝️

Capturing the experiences of my Student Exchange Program in Athens, Greece from Sept-Dec 2026. Mostly a memory bank for me, my family & friends to look back on someday. But if you're planning a student exchange or study-abroad journey, I hope you enjoy coming along! Aegina is a little Greek island just an hour away from the hustle of Athens, yet a world of its own. From the spiritual calm of the Monastery of Saint Nektarios to the ancient columns of the Temple of Aphaia, standing proudly among the pine-covered hills, this island is where history, faith and mythology come together. Once a major ancient Greek city-state and the first temporary capital of modern Greece, Aegina carries stories in every corner. And then comes the other side of the island sun-kissed beaches like the Marina Beach, crystal-clear blue waters, charming fishing villages, waterfront tavernas and the island's famous pistachios. From exploring ancient ruins to simply sitting by the sea and watching the ferries go by, Aegina reminds you that sometimes the best escapes are just a short ferry ride away. I also saw alot of eagles on the shore and even traditional horse cart rides, One island, centuries of history, a little spirituality and a whole lot of Mediterranean magic. ✨
