The Twelve Pointed Stag of The Dalmore is known around the world as the harbinger of a great dram of whisky. We’ve travelled to the northeast coast of Scotland to Alness on the shores of the Cromarty Firth to find the place where it all begins - the distillation of the spirit of Dalmore, and the warehouses where it merges with selected casks.
It’s a whisky of luxury and prestige, and there’s a lot to learn about The Dalmore. And so we’ve broken the episode into two parts. This is part 1, in which we learn about how the distillery operates, and how their relationships with top sherry bodegas have cemented their reputation as masters of the cask.
