BJP General Secretary Smriti Irani Exclusive On Dissent And Democracy | SIR Protest | India Today

In an exclusive interview on India First, BJP General Secretary and former Union Minister Smriti Irani strongly rejected allegations regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and the Election Commission of India. Responding to protests led by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Irani stated that the opposition's agitation is motivated by a desire for "regime change" rather than transparency. She pointed out that ninety percent of ninety crore voters have been verified, with twenty lakh booth-level agents from all political parties participating in the exercise. Addressing the deletion of thirteen crore entries from draft rolls, Irani explained that names identified fall under categories of deceased individuals, shifted voters, duplicates, or untraceable citizens. Rejecting allegations of foul play, she maintained that vote manipulation is impossible under the multi-party verification and counting systems. Pointing to past election outcomes across several states and Congress losses in Uttar Pradesh, Irani called on the opposition to fight democratically through elections instead of maligning constitutional institutions. #SmritiIrani #BJPvsCongress #ElectionCommission #itwebvideos #RahulGandhi #BJP #Congress #IndiaFirst #IndiaToday #IndianPolitics #Democracy #Elections #VoterRolls #UttarPradesh #PoliticalNews #NationalPolitics #CurrentAffairs Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
