THE FALL OF WILL FERRELL & THE RISE OF KING HILLBILLY — BEN AVERY & DEVAN COSTA

Ben and Devan Costa discuss the tragic fall-off of Will Ferrell and react to a bizarre GQ interview where the comedy legend seemingly struggles to remember his own movies and iconic lines. They revisit the death of the old millennial comedy archetype: quoting Anchorman, screaming movie lines, doing impressions, and generally trying to turn Will Ferrell's entire personality into a comedy routine. Somehow, Ben decides Will is now living through his own Ron Burgundy homeless arc. Then they discover King Hillbilly — a nocturnal millionaire who hates daytime, loves gas stations, big pickup trucks, and apparently has achieved enlightenment by watching hot dogs rotate at 3AM. Ben and Devan compare him to Patrick Star winning the lottery and a character that wandered out of Tim & Eric. The conversation gets into the bizarre ethics of handing enormous amounts of money to people who may be catastrophically unprepared to have it, whether lottery winners should be allowed to refuse a payout, and the apparent tragedy of becoming rich without ever buying anything nice. King Hillbilly's greatest luxury may simply be having enough money to stand outside a gas station at 3AM in pajamas. SOURCE This clip is taken from Ben Avery Presents: The Show livestream.
