BIKC Regionals at TSK Farnborough.
After my 2 P3s and my 1 P1 from my heats that put me into the top 2 for my Semi-Final.
Semi-Final-Started 2nd and then I got a good start but unfortunately got loaded wide into turn 2 which meant that I dropped down to 4th which is where I would stay until the final lap when P1 span themselves out which then meant that I moved up to P3 which is where I finished. This was really annoying because I felt that I had the pace to win my Semi-Final if I hadn't of gotten loaded wide. This meant that I would go through to the Grand Final as the top 6 from both Semi-Finals go through to the Grand Final to make up a grid of 12 and your position is based off of your quickest time against the other driver's time that finished in the same place as you. This meant that if I wanted to finish in the Top 3 of the Grand Final then I would have to fight my way through from 6th on the grid but I knew that it was going to be a difficult task. Finished my Semi-Final with a 41.739.
Grand Final-Started 6th as the one who finished 3rd in the other Semi-Final got a quicker time than me. I knew I was going to have a job to get through to Nationals by finishing top 3 in the Grand Final but I would give it my best go. So as soon as the lights went green for the start of the Grand Final I got my head down and made my straight up to 5th but only because P5, one of my friends from Bristol, let me through to try and chase down the top 4. I quickly caught up to the back of P4 and P3 and I was hoping that P4 would go for a move on P3 but they never did and so I then started to plan where I could possibly make the move and then try to chase down P3 myself. However, a few laps after I was planning where I could possibly make the move I started to spin myself but I was able to save it only to then get spun around by P6 causing me to drop down to 8th. This was it my chances of getting through to the Nationals were done. I did start to make inroads on P7 but just ran out of laps to overtake them but fortunately the driver that spun me out spun themself and got a penalty which means that I moved up to P7 which is where I ended finishing. Finished with a 41.259 (My New PB).
This wasn't how I wanted my Grand Final to end and this wasn't the way that I wanted to end my BIKC this year but stuff like this happens to the best of us. There is nothing I could of done about it and so for now I put my mind away form this and start to focus on other upcoming races and also start to focus on next year's BIKC.
