What if the psychedelic experience is already within us?

I was studying psychedelics for my integrative medicine fellowship today when I had this moment of realising just how normal all of this feels to me now. Which is kind of wild, because 10–15 years ago, I was taught that altering your consciousness in any way was demonic. So this video is me following that thought somewhere. I talk about how I went from learning about psychedelics through YouTube to now studying them in my formal medical education, what I think they could offer medicine, and why I think the most interesting thing about psychedelics might not actually be the psychedelics themselves. Somewhere along the way, this became a much bigger conversation about the body, mind, spirit, mystical experiences, and the possibility that the capacity for these experiences may already exist within us. And, of course, I had to take it one step further and wonder whether women, through our bodies, might be closer to that capacity than we realise.
