For more music using the Fender Rhodes, inspired by Herbie Hancock and Jamiroquai, check out Resolution 88: https://resolution88.bandcamp.com/music   / resolution88     / resolution88   This is one of the first Herbie tracks I discovered during my first explorations after being blown away by Headhunters. I was still quite young - yet to figure out that it was a Rhodes making that divine sound - so I had no chance of picking out all amazing synths that Herbie used on this track - the Oberheim 8-voice along with the usual Solina etc... 'People Music' is in 4 all the way through (as far as I can make out) apart from a brief period in the middle (the synth section) when it seems to be in free time. The 4/4 time signature is somewhat complicated by James Levi's syncopated snare - but it lends a real groove to a track that's fairly slow and very relaxed. This is such a peaceful, spiritual track - one of Herbie's greatest 70's tracks, and that's saying a lot. Every time I listen to it, I close my eyes and imagine being on the beach / shore of Coney Island right on that sunny day when Herbie did the photo shoot for the cover. Anyway, I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I do. This video was recorded: Rhodes suitcase mk1 88 - Apogee Duet (direct from amp output) - Logic. Hohner Clavinet - preamp - Apogee Duet - Logic.
