A Day in the Life of a US B-52 Bomber CREW

Five crew members. One bathroom. Thirty hours in a windowless tube, flying an airplane built before their parents were born. The B-52 first flew in 1952 and it's still flying combat missions today — the youngest one in the fleet is over 60 years old. In this video, we go inside a single 30+ hour mission: the mid-air refueling that has to go perfectly or two aircraft end up in the same six feet of sky, the one bunk shared by five exhausted people, the MREs heated in a bolted-in oven, and the ejection seats that only work for three of the five crew members below a certain altitude. We also look at the three-generation Air Force family still flying this same aircraft, the 47-hour endurance flight from 1994 that circled most of the planet, and the one upgrade lawmakers recently pushed for that has nothing to do with weapons or radar at all.
