Varado — Oak Bell

On a rainy Sunday morning at Heiner's Bar. A traditional lamentation from the northwest of Georgia. It comes from a very old polyphonic singing tradition in which the sung syllables do not carry lexical meaning. The song conveys emotion through vocal texture, sound, and harmonies rather than through words.
