Silent Oil Painting #42 "A Midnight Tide" by Kaylee Rakowski * Painting Sounds *

Hey everyone, welcome back to the studio for this week’s episode of Tutorial Tuesday. This week is going to be a little different than normal so I hope you all enjoy this little variation. I was unable to get in to the studio all week due to a back injury so I found this older video I painted a month or so ago. It is a silent video of me painting a moonlit whale tale and does not include any verbal queues from me. I know -- I am the worst! Joking aside please enjoy all the paint mixing, and brush sounds as this glowing scene comes to life. I am hopeful to be back in the studio in time for a fully instructional video next week. For the painting: I had a rough idea of what I was going for in this scene, but as always this was my first attempt and this exact scene. I love the way the whale silhouette comes together in the end! It can be a little challenging to paint living creatures in to the scenes, so I thought this would be a great example of some ways to layer our oil paints to create a peaceful moonlit scene. I would love to see you get creative with this painting and perhaps create a rendition yourself. If you do, please email me a photo!
