x2 reports. Henry Kelly, who presented TV shows Going for Gold and Game for a Laugh, has died aged 78. (17 April 1946 - 25 February 2025). His family said the writer and broadcaster died "peacefully" on Tuesday "after a period of ill health". Kelly was a journalist who was later known for presenting entertainment shows such as ITV's Game for a Laugh and breakfast show TV-AM. He went on to front lunchtime television quiz show Going for Gold on BBC 1, a role he held for ten seasons from 1987 to 1996. Born in Dublin in 1946, Kelly began his career at the broadsheet newspaper The Irish Times. He went on to become its northern editor, based in Belfast, during the height of the Troubles. In 1976, he moved to London and joined the long-running BBC Radio 4 current affairs programme, The World Tonight. He was also a founding presenter on classical music radio station Classic FM, and in his later life worked at BBC Radio Berkshire. He was well known and liked in the UK, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s on television.
