Our Darma Valley Road Trip Starts Here! 6 Bikes, 3 Cars & Heavy Rain!

Our Darma Valley trip begins! In Day 1 of our Uttarakhand road trip, we travel from Haldwani to Darchula, passing through the beautiful mountains of Kumaon, stopping for authentic Pahadi food in Kanalichina, Pithoragarh, and riding through heavy rain on the way to Darchula. Our group had 6 bikers and 3 cars, making this a proper group road trip through the hills. One of the highlights of the day was trying traditional Pahadi mutton dishes. We had Puri Panchola, made with roasted raw mutton and local spices, along with Bhutuwa, a traditional preparation made using goat’s intestine, liver, heart and blood. The journey was going well, but we faced heavy rainfall from Pithoragarh all the way to Darchula. This is how our first day on the road unfolded, with mountain views, local food, rain and plenty of memories along the way. This is Part 1 of our Darma Valley travel series.
