"Go around, Captain." The first officer said it three times. The captain kept landing. On 22 May 2010, Air India Express Flight 812 from Dubai came in almost twice as high as it should have been over Mangalore's tabletop runway. It touched down 5,200 feet along an 8,000-foot runway, ran off the end of the plateau and fell into the gorge below. 158 of the 166 people on board were killed. Only 8 survived. This documentary reconstructs the night flight minute by minute: a sleeping captain, an area radar that had been out of service for two days, a descent that started far too late, three go-around calls, and a runway with no room left. The source is the official Court of Inquiry report, the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) transcript and the ATC tape. The dialogue on screen is quoted from those transcripts. In memory of the 158.
