Not for help in a hard season, but for a right heart in a good one. 🙏 Because most of us pray far more consistently when life is difficult. When we are desperate, we are there every morning. When things are going well, we get busy, and days go by. This peaceful morning prayer is for the season when something you asked for has finally happened. When the hardest part has passed. When you woke up without the weight you used to wake up with. It is a prayer to stay humble, grateful, generous, and close to God, especially now, when you are least likely to feel that you need to be. 📖 "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights." — James 1:17 Remember: hard seasons make most people pray. Good seasons make most people drift. It happens slowly, and almost nobody notices while it is happening. You simply get busy, and stable, and gradually less dependent, and one day you realize you have not really talked to God in months. So build now, while it is easy. The relationship you deepen in a calm season is the one that holds you in a difficult one, and difficult ones come to everyone eventually. And do one more thing. Look around at who is still where you used to be. Somebody near you is in the season you just came out of. You understand it better than almost anyone, and you have margin now that you did not have then. Use some of it on them. That is usually what a good season is for.
