Going on a boating adventure is more than just sailing or motoring from place to place. One of the best things to do is that once we are at a destination is to go out and explore. That is where the dinghy comes in. The little boat that accompanies us from place to place. It is the primary form of transportation once we have arrived. The dinghy is used to fetch provisions, guests, parts and where there is infrastructure ashore, take us ashore for beach bars and restaurants and shopping. For today, take us on an adventure exploring this area of the Bahamas. Even the boat ride is fun. The dinghy takes us by local geological structures, other boats, some simple, others spectacular. The dinghy takes us to clean white sand bars at low tide where we can walk and explore. So come along and see where we go. We had a nice day in the dinghy exploring around the Compass Cay area. We motored through some nice areas where other sailors were anchored. We explored a beautiful sand bar at low tide. And I love the clarity of the water and the varying colors of turquoise and blue. Now we are back on the boat. We have showered, had a nice dinner and now it is time for the games. It is our last morning in the compass cay area. Today we will pull anchor and make our way to Staniel Cay for more exploring and adventures. When we are motoring somewhere the painter for the dinghy is let out so the dinghy follows behind the wake of the boat. We have arrived in the Staniel Cay area and are preparing to anchor. To avoid having the painter getting caught and wrapped up in the propellers we bring the dinghy in, shorten the line and eliminate any possibility that the painter can get wrapped in the propellers. We have completed anchoring and are now going ashore. Of course it is time to make a trash run. We had a nice easy trip from Compass Cay to Staniel Cay. We are anchored now in a fairly well protected area which is of course in crystal clear water. Our adventures continue so come back next time and thanks for watching.
