Under the Metal Fingers moniker, he released numerous volumes of Special Herbs, one of the longest-running instrumental series in hip-hop history, full of obscure loops and dusty samples. MF DOOM's recent passing hit the underground hip-hop community pretty hard. As a cathartic and creative way to process the loss of an icon, and to better connect with DOOM's role as a producer, Rosewxd remade his favourite beats from the Special Herbs instrumental series (with his own spin and some bonus beats). In the form of a beat tape, Rosewxd dedicates these Picked Herbs as a homage to Metal Fingers. Hip-hop heads will not only hear familiar favourites from MF DOOM's production catalogue, but hopefully get a kick out of the embellishments and feel the emotion behind some poignant vocals.
