With steep ascents and descents, our standard Land Rover Defenders struggled for grip at some point on the loose surface. This was our second visit to the Gatescarth pass. Our first time being back in 2015. Hairpins with steep drops make this green lane, the most challenging and most demanding in the north west of the UK.
