Healthcare is more than a community service — it is essential to the strength and competitiveness of our region. At the Montgomery Regional Chamber’s State of Health, leaders from Baptist Health, Jackson Hospital and Health Services, Inc. came together for an important conversation about the future of healthcare across the River Region. The discussion highlighted both progress and opportunity — from Jackson Hospital’s recovery and Baptist Health’s continued growth to the critical role Health Services, Inc. plays in expanding access to care throughout our community. Across the conversation, one message was clear: access to quality healthcare depends on having the people to deliver it. Recruiting and retaining physicians, nurses, technicians and other healthcare professionals remains one of the region’s greatest challenges — making workforce development, education and talent attraction increasingly important to the future of healthcare. By bringing healthcare, education, business and community leaders together, we can strengthen the talent pipeline, expand access to care and ensure the Montgomery region remains a healthy, competitive place to live, work and grow.
