Martini Method (makes 2): ¾ shot dry white vermouth 4 shots vodka (or gin, if you're a traditionalist) Plenty of ice Lemon peel, plus olives if you like Fill a stirring jug with ice, pour in the vermouth and vodka, and stir (never shake!) until smooth but you can still taste the alcohol. Strain into two chilled martini glasses. Squeeze the oils from a strip of lemon peel over each drink, rub it round the rim and drop it in. Adding olives? Use one or three on a stick, never two.
