The message of this cantata: Here on earth, life is miserable, but fortunately it does not last long, and then there is heaven. The fairly cheerful Sinfonia, in the form of a mini organ concerto, refers to the heavenly joy that will follow and which is audible in the cantata's final duet and chorale.
