Buster Brown's "Laura"

"Laura" is a classic tap routine associated with legendary tap dancer Buster Brown, known for his distinctive style, musicality, and relaxed approach to rhythm. The piece showcases the artistry of traditional rhythm tap, emphasizing intricate footwork, syncopation, and the ability to make the music come alive through movement. In this performance, I am joined by my student Chaeli Ashby for a presentation of this classic piece at the UVU Rhythmic Tap Company Concert. At the time I was teaching tap dance at Utah Valley University. Sharing this choreography across generations is a wonderful way to celebrate tap dance history while passing its traditions on to the next generation of dancers.
