Count your grandkids, then think about what you really spent on each one last Christmas, stocking stuff and wrapping paper included. Most of it is in the toy box, and some folks are still paying for it in April. I've got six grandkids, from three to thirteen, and I do Christmas for all six on $100 total. Every kid gets three things from Grandma: one thing to open, one thing to eat, and one day that's theirs. It's how our grandmothers did it, and nobody at my table feels short-changed.
In this one I'll walk you through the whole plan for Christmas for six grandkids on $100:
🎁 $10 a kid for the thing to open: a year-round box, yard sales, and asking what they're INTO
🧦 Flannel stockings with an orange in the toe, for about $2 each
🍪 A tin of each kid's own cookie for $15 total, and brown-bag wrapping the little ones decorate
✉️ "Your Day With Grandma," the gift that costs nothing and gets fought over first
…plus the $13 that's the smartest money in the plan, and the hard part, which isn't the kids at all.
There's no commercial for a day at the creek, so nobody tells you it's enough. It is, and it keeps your money right where it belongs.
If saving money and a Christmas that means something sound good to you, subscribe and stick around — that's what we do here every week. 💛
