Are Royal Enfield's genuine accessories actually worth the money? I've been modifying my Super Meteor 650, and while some upgrades have been brilliant, others have left me wondering why I bothered! In this video, I'm sharing my honest experiences with eight modifications I've fitted to my Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. Three in particular have been disappointing: the deluxe footpegs haven't made any noticeable difference, the Airfly Evo engine guards interfere with my riding position, and the genuine Royal Enfield touring screen has created some absolutely horrible helmet buffeting. The touring screen is the biggest disappointment, so I'm putting it to the test. We'll compare riding without a screen, using the factory touring screen on its own, and fitting an adjustable windscreen extender to see whether it actually solves the problem. The extender certainly helps, but has it made the screen worth keeping? Look closely at the footage, particularly the microphone's furry wind cover (deadcat). Before fitting the touring screen, there's very little movement in the deadcat, and the wind noise is relatively low. After fitting the screen, you can clearly hear the increase in wind noise and see the deadcat being disturbed much more by the turbulent airflow. It's a really interesting visual and audible comparison of how the screen has changed the airflow around my helmet. It's not all bad news, though! I'm also looking at five modifications I'm genuinely pleased with, including the front fender extender, sump guard, oil cooler guard, toe-heel gear shifter and oil temperature gauge. These are my real-world experiences after spending my own money, not a sponsored review. What works for me might not work for everyone, particularly when it comes to riding position and wind protection. 💬 If you own a Super Meteor 650, what's the best accessory you've fitted?
