Old Big guy on an ebike rides Capitol Reef National Park

took advantage of Capital Reef National Park closing down Scenic drive to vehicles for about 8 hours. They might make this an annual event -- it's still in the exploratory stages. I parked near where the closure of the road was (follow directions -- imagine that). was a 6.5 mile ride from the campground to the were the pavement ends at the Capitol Gorge trailhead. They had the road closed signs out on the Gorge, but bikers could go down it. Saw people coming back with mud on their tires and decided not this year. On the way back I did take a little side trip down the Grand Wash road (it's about a mile long). When I got home to edit the video. While watching looking for places to cut. Well it's Capitol Reef. The scenery is beautiful. So I just decided to do the video from where I parked, to the end of pavement (then added coming back out of Grand Wash). No music -- I did cut where the bike was just sitting when I took a few pictures along the way. So no music. Maybe occasionally hearing me talk to myself. I ride an e-bike. But I like to get some exercise -- so I'm always in assist mode and very rarely use the throttle. You'll notice that when I come up on a guy riding a non electric bike. In the video I can here where I shift gears (On the hill I had to drop all the way down to 1st gear), and then you see the guy on the non-electric bike look back and me, then start pulling away from me. It was a fun ride. I hope they do it again next year.
