TVS Motor Company has launched the 2025 version of the Apache RTR 160 in India. The motorcycle is now compliant with the new OBD-2B emissions norms. Additionally, TVS has also equipped the motorcycle with dual-channel ABS – a rare feature in this segment. The prices of the motorcycle start from Rs. 1,34,320, ex-showroom, which makes it around Rs. 4,000 more expensive than the top-end Racing Edition of the older model.
Apart from the aforementioned updates, the motorcycle remains the same on all other fronts. The Apache RTR 160 is an old motorcycle, but has been quite popular in many regions of India. Hence, TVS has given it timely updates over its life span. The latest version gets ride modes and a data-intensive LCD console. The higher variants also get Bluetooth connectivity for giving access to mobile communication alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.
Powering the Apache RTR 160 is a 159.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It develops 15.82bhp and 13.85Nm and is linked to a five-speed gearbox. This engine is held on by a double cradle frame that is suspended by telescopic front forks and gas-charged rear shocks. With a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres, the Apache RTR 160 is impressively light and tips the scales at 137kg (kerb).
The TVS Apache RTR 180 offers 177.4cc BS7 engine which develops a power of 17.02 bhp and a torque of 15.5 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, TVS Apache RTR 180 comes up with ABS braking system. Apache RTR 180 bike weighs 140 kg with a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters.
The company has added the Glide Through Technology (GTT) to the BS6 iteration of the motorcycle. The GTT system aims to eliminate engine stalling.
