Blind Test: 1995-2000 French House (Electronic Beats TV)

In Episode 42 of our much-loved Electronic Beats Blind Test Series, we dive deep into the pioneering era of French House from 1995 to 2000. Expect timeless classics exclusively from French producers. As always, six selectors step into the arena: Versatile Records founder and French electronic music mainstay Gilb’R; Parisian house pioneer DJ Gregory; French DJ, producer and club veteran Sébastien Léger; bassline virtuoso and French Touch icon Fred Falke; Detroit-born DJ, singer and producer sillygirlcarmen; and Liverpool-based groove specialist Lauren Lo Sung. Remember: this is all about fun, great music, and sharing knowledge — not just about who scores the most points or who has been around the longest. Big respect to everyone who stepped up to take the test when many others might have backed out. No Shazam. No phones. Just vibes, knowledge, guesses, and pure instinct. Please note: this isn’t a real-time recording, so it doesn’t reflect how quickly our guests recognized each track. The video has been edited to build tension and give you, the viewer, a chance to play along. Test your knowledge, drop your guesses in the comments, and let us know: how many tracks can you name? 00:00 Intro 00:18 Round 1 01:51 Round 2 04:45 Round 3 07:49 Round 4 10:12 Round 5 12:41 Round 6 14:56 Round 7 17:50 Round 8 19:18 Round 9 22:46 Round 10 24:54 Score Production: Romi Agel & Holger Wick / Sense Music & Media Idea, Recordings & Tracklist: Holger Wick Edit and Graphics: Klara Mottlova 🔗 Subscribe for more Electronic Beats Blind Tests, Tech Talks, B-Sides...
